September is one of the very best months of the year in Duluth/Superior. The temperatures are a little cooler, but not that cold. I would best describe it as “sweater weather.”
The month kicks off with a very fun, FREE event at Bayfront Park on September 8th. It is called the Harvest Fest and showcases local foods and many different vendors. Normally you can find my husband and I working at the compost/recycling station near the guy who sells delicious ears of corn. Eco Rotary staffs these stations so that the environmental footprint of this event is as small as possible. We are going to miss it this year, but highly recommend it to you.
Later in the month, the North Shore Inline Marathon is a skating version of Grandma’s Marathon. Stretches of the road will be temporarily closed. It’s fun whether you skate or just watch.
One of the best reasons to visit us is the changing of the leaves. Don’t miss it. However, the exact date depends on Mother Nature.
